Giant’s Causeway, Smart Strike & Darshaan on Top!

At Werk Thoroughbred Consultants, we compile a list of leading sires and broodmare sires of unrestricted SWs and First-Time SWs (FTSWs) in No. America, Europe, and Japan, as well as the leading sires and broodmare sires of G1 winners. It’s published weekly on www.enicks.com and www.ematings.com.

Through June 14, Giant’s Causeway and Smart Strike lead all North American stallions with 10 SWs. With FTSWs, there are 4 stallions tied for the lead – Distorted Humor, Dynaformer, Giant’s Causeway and Smart Strike. Meanwhile, Darshaan is on track to set a new record for the most unrestricted SWs for a broodmare sire. With just half the year gone, his daughters have already produced 15 SWs, putting 4 ahead of Rahy, who is also having a career year in this category.
